This certificate program is designed to introduce you to the basics of working in an entry level position in the banking industry.
This two-semester program has been developed to help meet the demand from local banking institutions for trained entry-level staff.
The Bank Training Certificate program will prepare students to conduct routine bank transactions such as cashing checks, accepting deposits and loan payments, and processing withdrawals. The program will also prepare students to work in an administrative capacity and assist in general office duties.
The Department of Labor projects there are currently 558,000 people working in bank teller positions. The agency projects that in less than 10 years, an additional 313,000 jobs will be added.

** BTE 287 provides students with the opportunity to supplement course work with practical work experience related to their educational program and occupational objectives. Students are placed at approved work sites that are related to their program of study. They work under the immediate supervision of experienced personnel at the business location and with the direct guidance of the instructor/coordinator.
