18th AVRSEF Science Fair 2014 Schedule

*note this is a change from last year’s schedule. School sponsors or parents are required to accompany the student throughout registration, set up and judging.



Thursday, February 20th

3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Registration and Project Set Up in Otero Junior College Student Center Banquet Room. Sponsors may bring their students projects and register all their students.

6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Poster Judging (Only Judges are allowed in exhibit room at this time).


Friday, February 21nd

8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

SRC evaluations (only SRC officials are allowed in Banquet Hall).

1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Final Judging (only judges are allowed in exhibit hall).

4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Students check in for final safety and display or SRC violations (only students and judges are allowed in banquet room).

5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Student Judging (only students and judges are allowed in the Banquet Room -- students formal attire is required).

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Teacher/Sponsors/and parents meeting in Rattler Den (Meeting will serve as Q&A forum in which we will discuss ISEF affiliation/and science fair regulations).


Saturday, February 22nd

8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m

Exhibit Hall open to the public (students will not be allowed to Remove posters unless they obtain a written permission from the fair director).

8:30 a.m.

SRC Violations Posted (students on this violation list must interview with SRC Chairman and Fair Director).

9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.

Workshops sponsored by our Department of Education STEM Grants Outreach Initiatives.

10:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.

Workshops sponsored by our Department of Education STEM Grants Outreach Initiatives.

12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Lunch Break.

1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m.

Awards Ceremony at the Ed Stafford Theatre (doors will open at 1:00 p.m.).

Saturday Workshops:
Session I: 9:15 – 10:15 a.m.
Session II: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Professor John C. Mannone Teaches Physics and Astronomy, as well as Chemistry and Mathematics in east Tennessee area colleges..

Kids Space – Ag Science (McDivitt 110)
Wings over the Rockies Air and Space Museum
