OJC Activities
Campus life at OJC can be exciting! Otero Junior College has a full calendar of social activities extending throughout the year. These activities are varied to meet the needs of student interests. Some of the outstanding activities of the year are the Rattler Athletic games and all-school mixers. Additional activities for students include student clubs and organizations, the OJC lecture series, community concerts, theater productions, and special events like International Food Night.
Otero Junior College sponsors an annual Lecture Series for the students and community. The series provides OJC faculty and guest speakers the opportunity to present a seminar on topics they specialize in and believe others would find interesting and informative. Each lecture is free and open to the public.
Throughout the year Otero Junior College hosts a wide range of performers, from local to international, with its concert series. Many of the concerts are free. The Otero Junior College Student and Community Choir present two concerts, one in the fall and one in the spring. The Otero Junior College Jazz Ensemble has become popular at various community and college special events as well as their performances in the Ed Stafford Theater. International artists have been brought in by the OJC International Relations Organization, Associated Student Government, Club Caliente, and Our National Heritage.
