  Persistent

Grasping, curling, and growing
Vines reaching, searching
For sunlight and space to grow
Creeping through dark, cold, crevices
Pushing between shadows
Flowers emerging delicate stars
Dawn’s pink breath
Morning brilliance
Glory blossoming silently
In its own persistent way

—Touria Berrada
   OJC Freshman

Without Words

Bird songs filled the air
Communing mother-nature
Windfall of delight!
