Tammy Dorenkamp, director of the OJC Cosmetology Career Academy, said the salon will be offering a full line of services, including hair, skin, and nails. “We have students enrolled in the program this fall with a good variety of skills represented,” said Dorenkamp.
Now in its fifth year, the Cosmetology Career Academy has established a rotation of classes that allows students to gain specific skills throughout the three-semester program. “We have students here this fall that completed the nail technician training this past summer, some completed the skin care training, and others have completed the hair stylists training. As a result, customers will have the opportunity to enjoy specific salon services conducted by students with a lot of training and experience,” said Dorenkamp.
Walk-in appointments are accepted; however, appointments are encouraged. To make an appointment with students at the salon, contact 384-6990. All work is supervised by instructors. |

Throughout the year, Club Cosmetology is involved in many activities designed to reinforce the principals and skills learned at the Academy. Many activities benifit the surrounding community, such as the free manicures at local events (left & below pictures) and the "Cuts for Cans" fall activity that the student organization does to help local charities and food banks.

"Community service is one of the areas of professional development we stress at the academy. We emphasize the need for them to get involved in their communities and to look for ways that they can be of service." said Tammy Dorenkamp, sponsor of Club Cosmetology.
