OJC Dance Studio Fall Semester 2009August 24 - December 11Welcome back everyone! I hope everyone had a great summer and had a lot of fun! I have to say again, how proud I am of the OJC Dancers! What a great group of well rounded dancers we have! I saw so many dancers participate in the Children’s Theater production of Aladdin, and the Picketwire production of Willy Wonka! How exciting! And for my oldest dancers...what a summer we have had! Over 7 appearances and performances since our showcase in May! I have to say that I was the most proud of you at the Relay for Life appearance in Swink. You girls did an outstanding job!And congratulations are in order for Kailey Collins and Cynthia Justice! They got their first pair of pointé shoes this summer! Now for the important stuffRegistration is approaching fast! Registration isTuesday, August 18th, from 12-2pm or 4-6pmRegistration forms can be downloaded from this website.Classes start the week of August 24th!I am very excited to announce the return of Yoga to the OJC Dance Studio! Sue Samaniego returned last semester with her Pilates class and will add Yoga again this semester! Sue is a certified Pilates and Yoga instructor and is very excited to be teaching, once again, at the OJC Dance Studio. Beginners to Advanced will feel at ease with Sue in her class that utilizes exercise balls, foam rollers and exercise bands to increase flexibility and abdominal core strength. I know I want to take her classes! The cost of each class is $100 for the 15 weeks. Refer to the schedule for more days and times.Another addition is Toddler Time with Debby Hansen on Mondays from 5:05m to 5:35pm. This class is back by popular demand for tots ages 2-3. The only difference with this class from before is; we ask that an adult accompany the tot in class. Kind of a “mom and me” class…or dad and me, grandma and me…you get the idea! Any adult that the dancer is familiar with is great. We just ask that the adult be a consistent participant with the dancer, and it not be an older sibling. Mom, dad, aunt, uncle, grandma, grandpa, babysitter willing to participate…any will do. I know everyone will have a great time in class! The tuition for this class is $80 for the 15 weeks. You will notice on the schedule a change in Denise’s classes. Denise has had to change her teaching day to Friday this semester to accommodate her family’s schedule. I am sure you all can understand the need for this and Denise hopes that everyone will still be able to participate in her classes. She appreciates your understanding in this matter.Spring ProductionAs we announced in the spring, “Road Trip!” will be our spring 2010 production! This will be a fun show featuring music about traveling in the United States. An exact date is still be decided on, but we will announce it as soon as we can! Take a trip down Route 66 with us!In ConclusionI hope to see you all at registration on Tuesday the 18th. If you cannot make it Tuesday, just give me a call at the office or on my cell. I am looking forward to the spring semester. See you all at the studio!Stop thinking… Just Dance!Jennifer Jackson, Director
