Business Administration

Associate of Arts ~ Emphasis

General and operations managers plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of companies and other public- or private-sector organizations. Their duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources that are too diverse and general in nature to be classified into any one area of management or administration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrative services. In some organizations, the tasks of general and operations managers may overlap those of chief executive officers.

Program Description

The Business Administration curriculum is designed to provide students with a background of general education, a familiarity with basic principles of business, and a foundation for specializing in a selected field of business.

Students who choose to fulfill degree requirements will be eligible to receive the Associate of Arts (AA) Degree. This is a traditional liberal arts education with a focus on arts and humanities, communication, or social sciences. The Associate of Arts Degree is designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year institution to complete their Bachelor of Arts Degree. Because of different requirements at four-year institutions, it is essential that students discuss their degree plan with their advisor.
