International Tuition and Fees

The college is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant students with current visas. These students are classified as out-of-state and will pay that tuition rate.

Students must show proof of $16,700 USD on their I-20:  $7850 Tuition/Fees;  $6950 Room & Board; $1900 Books/Insurance.
* NOTE: Health insurance is mandatory and should meet these minimum standards:
  • Medical benefits of at least $50,000 per accident or illness
  • Repatriation of remains in the amount of $7,500
  • Expenses associated with the medical evacuation of the exchange visitor to his or her home country in the amount of $10,000
  • A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness
An insurance policy secured to meet the benefits requirements must be underwritten by an insurance corporation with an A.M. Best rating of "A-" or above, an Insurance Solvency International, Ltd. (ISI) rating of "A-I" or above, a Standard and Poor's Claims Paying Ability rating of "A-" or above, or a Weiss Research, Inc. rating of B+ or above or be backed by the full faith and credit of the government of the exchange visitor's home country.
Athletes must get either the BUDGET or SELECT Plan or ISP Sports Plus

Franzman International Scholarship

This scholarship is offered by Seth and Barbara Franzman for the benefit of a deserving second-year (sophomore) international student to assist with funds necessary to continue their education at Otero Junior College, and to promote a positive international culture in the College community. International Academic/Leadership Scholarship*

Current OJC international students who have received the distinction of being on the President’s List, have demonstrated leadership and have been active in community service can apply for this scholarship award of $500 toward the following semester at OJC. (DOWNLOAD APPLICATION 283 Kb PDF)

International Spirit Scholarship Application*

Current OJC international students who have received the distinction of being on the Institutional Recognition Honors List, have been active in community service and have demonstrated and fostered opportunities to reach across cultural borders to promote international understanding can apply for this scholarship award of $250 toward the following semester at OJC. Student Life Scholarship

A $500 per semester tuition scholarship to students who select to live in OJC on-campus housing and participate in Student Life activities and events.
