12th Annual Conference Begins on March 6, 2010!

Careers in math, science, engineering and technology!


Sailing Into Your Future!

The purpose of the Girls in the Middle Conference is to encourage girls in 6th, 7th and 8th grades to continue studying math, science, and technology and to consider careers in the math, science, engineering and technology fields.

The registration fee for girls to attend the conference is $5. This includes the conference, continental breakfast, lunch, and a T-shirt. Please submit your registration fee and the registration form to your school counselor, bring it with you to the conference, or mail it to OJC via the registration form instructions.

  • 9:30 a.m.    -   10:00 a.m.        Opening
  • 10:15 a.m.  -   11:00 a.m.        Session I
  • 11:00 a.m.  -   12:00 noon       Session II
  • 12:00 noon -   12:45 p.m.        Lunch
  • 1:00 p.m.    -   1:45 p.m.          Session III
  • 2:00 p.m.    -   2:30 p.m.          Closing

Girls in the Middle Conference The expected outcomes for the young women attending the Conference are:

  • Consider taking more math and science classes

  • Learn about new careers opportunities

  • Start making plans for high school and beyond

  • Create professional mentoring role models in the community
