The Nursing Department offers the Associate of Applied Science program in Nursing and is designed to provide education to prepare the student for practice as a registered nurse. Related certificates are offered through the Service Occupations Department.
The OJC Nursing program is approved by the Colorado Board of Nursing, The Colorado Community College System and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. The curriculum follows the criteria for the Colorado Nursing Articulation Model (opens in new window) and is specifically constructed to promote career mobility between nursing levels - whereby an LPN can receive his/her Associate Degree in nursing without repetition of courses. Funding for the start up of the Part-time program came from the Colorado Trust.
