As summer classes come to a close at Otero Junior College, preparations for Fall Semester move into high gear. There are just three weeks left to register before classes begin on Monday, August 18.

New and returning students are invited to visit Otero Junior College for Registration Fridays, held every Friday through August 15.  Registration Fridays are a one-day visit to campus designed to allow students to take a tour and finalize testing, financial aid, advising and enrollment for fall semester.

In addition, students who are planning to reside on campus can get answers to their questions about housing, meal plans and student life.

To sign up for a Registration Friday, go to http://www.ojc.edu/orientation.aspx.  If Fridays are not convenient, students and their families can choose another day that best fits their schedule on the registration form.

Students wishing to enroll in classes on the date of their visit will need to have applied to OJC.  There is no application fee and the process takes only a few minutes.  To apply, go to http://www.ojc.edu/howToApply.aspx . Before the visit, students should have completed all of the requirements on the Admissions Checklist (also available at the above website).

According to Jeff Paolucci, vice president of Student Services, there is still time to enroll for Fall Semester.

“We are coming down to the wire, but there is still room in most of our academic courses and career and technical education programs for new students,” said Paolucci. “We are a one-stop-shop in Student Services, so if students come in the next few weeks, we will personally help them enroll in the college, chart out a course of study, get registered and start the financial aid process,” he said. “If students have already registered for classes and need to make schedule changes; we can also help them with that.”

For more information contact the Student Services Center at 719-384-6831 or visit OJC on the web at www.ojc.edu.
