Mike Bielski, from Milpitas, Calif., has been named the new men’s soccer coach at OJC. Bielski holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University and is currently working toward a master’s degree in kinesiology from Saint Mary’s College.
Prior to coming to OJC, Bielski was the first head coach for the Monterey Peninsula College men’s soccer team leading them through the 2008-2011 seasons. Prior to starting up the program at MPC he was the assistant men’s soccer coach for Division II California State University, Monterey Bay from 2002-2008.
Bielski holds an NSCAA Advanced National Coaching License and coached both boys and girls Division I youth soccer in Fremont, Calif. from 2002-2011.
As a player, Bielski was a member of the Salinas Valley Samba of the NPSL from 2004-2008 and played for the California Gold, a USL professional franchise, from 2002-2003.
“I’m very excited for this new coaching opportunity and look forward to becoming a part of the Otero Junior College and La Junta communities. It is my goal to continue building this young successful program and help my student athletes move on to the next level in their educational and athletic careers,” said Bielski.
