International Food Night
Experience our many cultures
Good food, good company and the chance to experience the many cultures that are present on the OJC Campus; that is what International Foods Night is all about. Take a night off from your diet and come dine at International Food's Night; one of the most anticipated annual events at Otero Junior College.
International Foods Night is sponsored by the OJC International Relations Organization and is held every spring in the OJC Student Center Banquet Room. The Chefs from OJC Sodexo Campus Services prepare delectable dishes designed to tempt your taste buds as the international students at OJC provide entertainment for the evening's festivities.
Tickets will be sent to the registered address upon receipt of payment. Reserved tickets should be paid for prior to the event. Unclaimed tickets will be released to those on the wait-list or be available for resell.
The evening is divided into two sessions:
STUDENT SESSION: Entertainment Begins at 4 pm (Rattler's Den)
All students with a 15 or 19 meal plan will be admitted free with their meal card.
COMMUNITY SESSION: Doors Open at 6:15pm (Banquet Room)
Dinner Service Starts at 7:00 pm
The menu is served in tasters portions to give participants the opportunity to try a little of everything. If you are vegetarian, be sure to let us know so we can prepare something that you will be able to enjoy as part of the evenings activities!
Veggie Sanger (Australia) | Dakgangjeong (South Korea) | Pan de Jamon (Venezuela)
Mumu (Papua New Guinea) | Guiness Corned Beef (Northern Ireland) | Pollo Guisado (Dominican Republic)
Mochi (Japan) | Orange Sesame Butter Cookie (Nigeria) | Maple Crepe (Canada)
In addition to the delicious dishes prepared by the Sodexo team, members of the International Relations Organization (IRO) and special guests will present a variety of acts to entertain and delight you, as well as serve as table hosts and hostesses for the evening so that guests will be able to get to know some of these special students a little better.
Presentations will be made to community businesses who have provided internship opportunities for international students throughout the year and there will be an announcement of international scholarship winners.
