International Students Serve

About International Foods Night

International Foods Night is a long standing traditional event hosted by the OJC International Relations Organization.  Typically, the event is held every spring in the OJC Student Center Rizzuto Banquet Room.  However, due to COVID and safety reasons we are taking it virtual this year.  Here's how it will work...

For each $50 dontation you chose a country you would like to represent.  Choose more than one country if you're so inclined! There are 195 countries to choose from - let's cover the entire globe from La Junta, Colorado!  Donors will have access to our Facebook Live event,  receive a link to a PDF recipe book with recipes for delicious international cuisine, the link to an international playlist of music, the option to purchase one-of-a-kind dessert boxes and access to our online silent auction.

The wonderful staff from the on-campus food service, Sodexo, has put together dessert boxes with treats from around the world.  Each box is enough to serve 4 people and will be available for an additional donation of $25.  Please reserve your box in advance when you make your donation to secure your participation in this year's event. Dessert boxes will be available for drive by pickup on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 10:00 am - 3:00pm in front of the the Humanities Center on the OJC Campus.

Throughout the night on April 8th, donors are encouraged to post pictures of their menu, celebrating family or friends, and table displays.  Photos will be considered entries to our 1st Ever Virtual IFN contest for best menu and best table display.  Prizes will be awarded!

Please know that the elaborateness of your menu, decorations and IFN flare are completely up to you and your guests - if you choose to have guests!  This years event is about raising much-needed funds to support the activities of the International Relations programs at OJC and to give all of us an excuse to have a little fun at home!  When COVID is a memory and we can safely celebrate together again, the in-person tradition of IFN - delicious meals, live entertainment and celebrating in community - will return bigger and better than ever!
