Jump Start: Student Orientation at OJC on Aug. 14
 
Fall Semester at Otero Junior College will begin on Monday, August 15. New and returning students will have the opportunity to come to campus a day early, August 14, to participate in a variety of activities, including Jump Start, an orientation that will prepare students to begin classes on August 15.

Jump Start will begin at 9 a.m. in the Humanities Center, Room 112, and continue through 12 p.m. with six-30-minute sessions.

For those who would like extra time (60 minute sessions)  or an earlier date, additional Jump Start session times are available on Thursday, August 11 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and Friday, August 12 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in Humanities Center Room 112.

Online registration for the morning Jump Start sessions is required as sessions are limited to 30 participants. Register at: www.ojc.edu/jump_start.aspx . If your first choice is full, choose another session.

Each Jump Start session will instruct students how to:
•    Set their student password and log-in to the Student Portal
•    Access their official student email
•    Print their class schedule
•    Tour campus to locate their classrooms
•    Visit the Library to get a Student Library Card
•    Visit TRiO Support Services

Following the morning Jump Start Sessions, students and their families can enjoy a number of other activities on the OJC campus as they move into the dormitories and get ready for classes.

The day’s events include:
•    12 PM – 2 PM    Hamburgers and Hot Dogs on the Student Center Patio.  Campus club and chamber tables in the Rattlers’ Den
•    1 PM – 7 PM       Battle Ball on the soccer field
•    7 PM – 9 PM       DJ on the patio, s’mores in the courtyard and activities organized by the RAs.
