The Lady Rattlers picked up their first win on the road against Northwest College Friday, September 9th in Powell, Wyo. Early in the first half, center midfielder Callie Larson delivered a through ball to freshmen outside midfielder Estephany Gonzalez for a one on one finish to kick-off the game.

Sophomore goalkeeper, Caylie Hartman, helped keep the 1-0 shutout through to the end of the first half. The Lady Rattlers came back into the second half full force. Midfielder Ariyona Loera received a foul just outside of the 18 yard box to earn OJC a free kick in the 84th minute of the game. Larson assisted freshman center back Chloe Craig, who finished the set piece with a beautiful shot to the upper corner of the net. The Lady Rattlers closed out the game with a 2-0 win in their first game on the road.

On Saturday, the ladies traveled to Sheridan, Wyo. where they faced a much improved team from Sheridan College. Both teams matched well competing back and forth until the 33rd minute of the first half when OJC’s sophomore outside midfielder, Hannah Faller, put away the game winner off of pass from outside back Coleen Johnson to give her team the 1-0 win. The Lady Rattlers went home with two wins for their first weekend on the road.

The girls will be back in action this week for two more Region IX games. They will be back on the road Wednesday, September 14 to face Trinidad State Jr College at 1:00 p.m., before returning home for a match on Friday, September 16 against Western Wyoming at 1 p.m.
