Kim Woodruff keynote speaker for Girls in the Middle
Registration for “Walk on the Wild Side” closes Feb. 21
 
Kim Woodruff, district wildlife manager and educator Salida East District, will be the keynote speaker for the 19th annual Girls in the Middle conference to be held on March 4 at Otero Junior College. This year’s conference theme is “Walk on the Wild side”

Born and raised in Meeker, Woodruff graduated from Meeker High School and then went to college at Mesa State College, now Colorado Mesa University.  While in college she worked in various areas including in the biology department.  In the summers, Woodruff worked primarily for Westland’s Ranch; however she also worked one summer at the Bel-Air State Wildlife Area as a temporary employee for the Division of Wildlife.  Woodruff graduated in 2002 with a biology degree.   

With her focus on biology and interest in the Division of Wildlife in 2002, she was accepted into the Colorado Division of Wildlife’s District Wildlife Manager training program.  That same year as part of a 9-month training she graduated from Red Rock’s Police Academy with a Peace Officer’s Standards Training Certification (POST).  In 2003, Woodruff was assigned to the Salida East District in Salida, Colorado as a District Wildlife Manager and Educator.

In her free time, Woodruff enjoys spending time with her husband, two kids and her extended family.  She also enjoys volunteering at her local church, as well as hobbies of fishing, hunting and gardening.
