Grace O’Neil Named NJCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
 

Otero Junior College is proud to announce that Grace O’Neil Boulder Colo., has been named the NJCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. O’Neil scored 28 points and had 16 rebounds against Northwest Kansas Tech on Nov. 17. O’Neil scored 17 points and had 20 rebounds against Laramie County Community College on Dec. 4. For the week she had an average of 23.5 points per game, 85.7% free throw rate per game and 18 rebounds per game.

“Grace had a phenomenal week.” Sta’Nisha Hersey, OJC head women’s basketball coach, said. “She killed it on the boards and was determined to grab every rebound that came here way. We are incredibly proud of her”

Hersey explained that O’Neil is a great leader on and off the court. “She embodies integrity, is vocal, and selfless. O’Neil is an excellent student and is involved in a number of things on campus like the President’s Leadership Program (PLP).”
